Sexual & Reproductive Health Reproductive Health Project
Are you generous and interested in volunteering with PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) Uganda for the Reproductive and Sexual Health Project?
PLANE’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Program focuses on increasing awareness and education on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) among teenagers and other stakeholders in Uganda, particularly in the Rwenzori region. The program aims to empower women and girls to take charge of their health and well-being through innovative approaches and evidence-based practices.
Why Volunteer: Volunteering with the Sexual and Reproductive and Health Program offers you the opportunity to make a direct impact on the health and well-being of women and girls in Uganda. By volunteering, you can contribute to raising awareness, combating harmful cultural practices, and promoting access to accurate information on SRHR, ultimately improving the lives of individuals in the community.
Goal for Volunteering: The goal of volunteering with the program is to empower women and girls to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health, combat gender-based violence, and improve maternal, newborn, and child health in the region. Your involvement can contribute to creating a supportive environment for SRHR advocacy and awareness among youth and community members.
How to Contribute: As a volunteer, you can contribute by participating in awareness campaigns, conducting educational workshops on SRHR topics, organizing community dialogues, and collaborating with health service providers. Your efforts can help bridge the gap in access to SRHR information and services, empower individuals to make healthy choices, and promote gender equality and rights.
Benefits and Impact: Volunteering with the Sexual and Reproductive and Health Program can benefit both the volunteers and the community. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in health education, advocacy, and community engagement, while also making a tangible impact on the lives of women and girls by promoting their health and well-being. The impact of your volunteer work can lead to improved awareness, reduced stigma, increased access to services, and ultimately better health outcomes for individuals in need.
Join us in supporting the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program and be a part of the movement to empower women and girls, combat harmful practices of teenage pregnancy, early marriages, unsafe abortions and promote access to SRHR education and services in Uganda. Your involvement as a volunteer can create ripple effects that contribute to a healthier and more equitable society for all.
