Platform for the Needy (PLANE) is a nationally registered nonprofit organization based in Fort Portal Tourism City, Kabarole District, Western Uganda.
Founded in 2010 by a passionate team of journalists and teachers, PLANE is dedicated to advocating for and protecting the rights of children, youth, and women. Through a wide range of programs, the organization works to build a healthy, inclusive, and violence-free society where every individual can thrive.
PLANE spearheads collaborative initiatives that raise awareness about general and reproductive health, with a strong focus on Family Planning, HIV/AIDS prevention, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
Beyond advocacy, PLANE improves access to essential social and health services, supports agricultural value chain development, and empowers farming communities with practical knowledge and resources for sustainable growth.
In addition, PLANE promotes youth empowerment through educational scholarships and community initiatives that foster environmental awareness and conservation.
Registered under the Uganda National NGO Board (No. INDP10895349NB), PLANE has gained national recognition for its impactful work in child education, health promotion, and community advocacy—especially in championing girls’ education and empowering youth and teenage mothers.
At its core, PLANE is driven by a deep commitment to transform lives, uplift vulnerable children, and promote sustainable community development through education, empowerment, and capacity-building initiatives.
